American poker players represent a community of professional and amateur players from the US who have historically played a leading role in the development, popularization, and professionalization of poker. The United States is widely considered the birthplace of modern poker. Poker players constitute the majority of the Poker Hall of Fame and lead global rankings in terms of World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets won.
